What I'd tell myself three years ago
Trade smaller, journal everything, stop looking for the perfect indicator, and understand that the boring parts — the waiting, the sizing, the record-keeping — ARE the skill.
Post-mortem on a stopped-out trade
Setup was valid. Entry was fine. Stop was hit. Nothing went wrong. That's the part beginners can't accept — a good trade can lose and still be a good trade.
The difference between a plan and a hope
A plan says: entry, stop, target, size, invalidation. A hope says: I think it goes up. I've held both. Only one of them pays.
Yen intervention risk
Everyone knows the level. That's exactly why the move to it can be violent in both directions. I'm sizing this one at half.
Trading around a full-time job
I set alerts and let them come to me. Not being able to watch all day forced me onto higher timeframes — which turned out to be an upgrade, not a compromise.
Copper is telling a story
An industrial metal at these levels while everyone talks recession. Either the metal is wrong or the narrative is. Markets usually settle that argument in the metal's favour.
